What is IVF Treatment?

IVF stands for in vitro fertilization. It is also known as a Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). IVF works by using a combination of medicines and surgical procedures to help sperm to fertilize an egg, and help the fertilized egg to implant in female patient’s uterus.

First, we provide medicine to female patient to produce several of mature eggs and ready for fertilization. Then the doctor takes the eggs out of female patient’s body and mixes them with sperm in a lab, to help the sperm to fertilize the eggs. Then they put one or more fertilized eggs (embryos) directly into female patient’s uterus.

Pregnancy happens if any of the embryos implant in the lining of female’s uterus.

IVF has many steps, and it takes several months to complete the whole process. It sometimes works on the first try, but many patients needs more than one round of IVF to get pregnant. IVF definitely increases chances of pregnancy if you’re having fertility problems, but there’s no guarantee that all patients get success after IVF treatment as everyone’s body is different and success largely depends on level of hormones in female patient , quality of uterus , age factor of female , quality of sperm etc.
