What is IUI Treatment?

IUI stands for in intrauterine insemination. It is also known as donor insemination or artificial insemination. In IUI treatment we, put sperm cells directly into female patient’s uterus around the time her ovulating, helping the sperm to get closer to egg. This reduces the time and distance sperm has to travel and making it easier to fertilize egg.

Before having the insemination procedure, we provide fertility medicines that stimulate ovulation. Semen is collected from husband or a donor. It goes through a process called “sperm washing” that collects a concentrated amount of healthy sperm from the semen.

Then our doctor puts the sperm right into female patient’s uterus. Pregnancy happens.

if sperm fertilizes egg, and the fertilized egg implants in the lining of her uterus.

IUI is a simple and easy procedure, and it can be less expensive than other types of fertility treatments. It increases chances of pregnancy, but everyone’s body is different, so there’s no guarantee that after IUI treatment patient gets pregnant
